![]() We are calculating guns by their practical rate of fire. This should give us a clear idea about which was the most powerful battleship in the anti-aircraft role. Once we have calculated the firepower of each battleship, we will then rank them in a series of graphs at the end of the post. If a battleship changed hands, we will also count it as a seperate warship. In these situations, the modernized/rebuilt battleship will be broken down into a sub-class (Example – Richelieu and her sister Jean Bart). This will not apply for battleships that underwent substantial reconstruction/modernization. We will use one battleship to represent each class. ![]() In this post, we will break down the anti-aircraft firepower of each battleship from World War II to the post-war years. This post will kick off the series by looking at the anti-aircraft guns of each battleship to determine which battleship had the best anti-aircraft firepower by calculating the throw weight of each ship. I’m working on a comprehensive ranking system to establish a hierarchy in the effectiveness of each class of battleship, basically finding what was the best battleship.
