![]() I understand these devices are ‘isolated’, but how secure is this & exactly how does it work? I assumed I should set up another LAN/VLAN specifically for guests, but assigning this to the Guest WiFi network causes the guest portal to not work (because the guest portal is on the default IP range…)Ģ. Devices get an IP from the default range, the same as the internal devices. ![]() Switched to the old interface (because I couldn’t find a way to enable this in the new interface) & enabled WPA2 & a password on the guest WiFi network.ġ. This sets up an ‘Open’ network with zero encryption (which I find odd)Ģ. Set up a ‘Guest Hotspot’ in the new UniFi interface. Devices only get access to the internet & no internal resources (does this need its own VLAN?)ġ. ![]() WPA2/WPA3 encryption (default is ‘Open’ what tha?) Guest Portal redirecting to an external webpage upon login (for events advertisement etc) I’m using all UniFi gear with a USG & a Cloud Key G2 Plus. I’m setting up a guest wifi and have some questions on network security & device isolation best practice.
